Pros

It was an okay place to learn. I stayed longer than I should have. Fortunately, I already had a lot of applications out before the layoff announcement.

Cons

Compensation and work life in general was an ever increasing spiral over the 12 years I was they. They cut every benefit they could; Healthcare, vacation, comp time, 401k matches, bonuses, scrap tickets. The site I was at was 20-30% under paid compared to positions at other sites. Now that I work some where else, I ask my self why in the hell did I stay so long.

Came in and things looked great. Spent money, albeit in the wrong places, said the right things, called themselves union friendly. However...

Cons

Mismanaged funds. Despite touting themselves as union friendly, at the first sign of trouble they started idling plants and mines left and right, putting thousands out on the street.
