People care about the work because it benefits patients, interesting work, cross team and department cooperation, lots of different technologies, top quality hospital, good benefits.

Cons

Some bad managers, like most work places. Don't see the value some of their best team members bring to the table, let their power get to their heads or don't treat team members with respect.

Pros

Freedom of work and freedom of thoughts. Lots of NIH funding - one of the best in the USA in terms of research funding. Have defined career paths for the postdocs to research associateship, stuff scientist or even to assistant stuff position. Lots of internal reward program for good science. In short one of the best place to do post doctoral work. As a city Cleveland is very much affordable. The job also comes with exceptional benefit package. One of the best health insurance coverage in one of the nations topmost health system.

Cons

Its more patient oriented so the main focus is not in basic science science research. However its exceptional in translational research.

rising health care costs are causing cutbacks. Fairview is increasing the number of hours needed per pay period to have benefits. Jobs and increase in hours is based on seniority not merit.
