      What Happened to Clever Devices

      Pros

      Weekly pay checks are an given pro. For those of us who are extremely budgeted, this is extremely helpful. Modern office space, free amenities in the kitchen.

      Cons

      Too many different policies in place that do not get enforced from department to department. This is not what I signed up for. There is no transparency at the company and very limited help in growth and career development. The HR team hides and to be honest, we have no idea who is on the team. When I signed on to join, it was an exciting place to be, that has changed drastically over the last year and its not a productive, engaging environment. Too many hands stirring the pot and not enough people to get the work done. The company lacks in diversity, is discriminatory on many levels and unless you have no opinion, no growth, no promotions, no raise. There is no work life balance and everything is a fire fight at all times. If departments were held accountable for their time, it would make it a smoother to get the jobs done.

      Pros

      The mix of back-office and mobile devices makes for an interesting engineering challenge. The customers are all public utilities i.e. transit agencies, some can be fast others slow to respond to questions or new approaches.

      Cons

      Lower management is totally cowed, they will be fired if they point out even obvious problems. So at the working stiff level, you cannot expect any support. Just keep your mouth shut and do the best you can in a totally understaffed workplace. Don't miss the antique dress code-no blue jeans allowed. Or the mandatory 48 hour work weeks during 4th quarter every year. It is like a 20% pay cut. For the benefit of the 2 owners. But is there any bonus plan to compensate? Not a chance.

      Pros

      Not a bad company to work for. A broad range of technologies to learn.

      Cons

      Not a stable work. They often layoff people at seemingly no reason. Poor bonus structure.

      I'm very sorry that you feel we are not a stable work environment. As in any business employees who decide to take their career into another direction is not something that the company can control and people will leave to further their careers and experience. We pride ourselves on the fact that we do not take terminations easily and the reasons behind a termination is between the company and the employee. I'm sorry that you did not raise your concerns while you were with us as we would have happily addressed concerns for you.
