Pros

Good pay and benefits, good product, good career growth opportunities

Cons

Lack of strong management leads to chaotic decisions and change of direction sporadically- feels like management isn’t all on the same page at time which makes it hard to get straight and clear answers. There is certainly career growth opportunities but the pathway isn’t always clear and consistent across all employees.

Pros

For the most part, I enjoyed working at ClickUp. I'd never worked with an immediate team so committed, kind, hard-working, and collaborative before. I'm not sure how Support had created a culture like this, but it was one of the best parts of my time there. My managers cared about me as both an employee and a person. They advocated for my success and my growth, giving me projects that aligned with my strengths. We had flexible PTO, and the benefits were a huge plus.

Cons

Perhaps this is due to the nature of working in Support, but it was hard to feel a sense of autonomy and scheduling flexibility. If you like to have every moment of your day scheduled or carved out for you, then it will be a good fit. Otherwise, it can be hard to stay afloat. Change could've been managed better. You have to be flexible but even then, the most adaptable employees found themselves exhausted from the constant changes. There is little growth available in the Support department, even if you are among the best. It was a good place to build my resume and working experience, but I don't recommend this for employees who want to progress in their career.

Can't trust the CEO & CBO

Pros

Some of the best coworkers I've ever had. Company has a lot of potential. Even though the company is almost 1000 employees it still operates like a startup so there is lots of opportunity to take ownership, grow quickly, and do impactful work.

Cons

In May 2022, ClickUp laid off 7% of its team and our CEO said on that all hands call, "we will not do another layoff" (direct quote). In June 2023, ClickUp laid off 10% of its team and our CEO sounded and acted like a robot on that all hands call while sharing the news. No empathy. He is losing credibility and trust amongst employees. It's hard to trust what he says and he should not be the CEO. Also, he does not care about diversity. ClickUp is one of few tech companies to not give US-based employees the Juneteenth holiday. There are some amazing leaders at the company (SVP of Eng, VP of Product, Head of People, Head of Finance, VP of Solutions are all dynamite!). But unfortunately there are also some who lack experience and social skills (CEO and CBO) which negatively impacts the culture and employee morale. Perks are lackluster. Company-wide goals/OKRs are always changing. Still operating as a very very scrappy company.
