Pros

1. The People - Cloudera has curated the best workforce in the industry. That being said, I've never run into anyone with a ego here. Everyone is willing to help. 2. Leadership - Cloudera's leadership is well respected within and outside of the company. In addition to that, they are very open and approachable. I never feel like I'm "in the dark" at Cloudera. 3. Integrity - Cloudera is in a highly competitive field, yet remains committed to customers. Quality and customer satisfaction are held in the same regard has financial performance.

Cons

Cloudera has and continues to grow at lightning speed. With that comes the typical growing pains. For example, there aren't always pre-defined processes or documentation that can assist you in your role.

Pros

Extremely smart people, with a focus on open source and pushing the limits of technology. In particular, engineers have a great understanding of systems, from the hardware layer, to the kernel, and up. Everyone is extremely approachable and tends to be friendly. The executive team is rock-solid and are universally trusted and respected within the company. I trust that they are not in it to make a quick buck, but truly want to build a healthy, sustainable, profitable business for the benefit of the ecosystem and the employees.

Cons

Poor teamwork and internal communication, at least in engineering. Effort is constantly duplicated and things that are built are often discarded, when they could be re-used. Often we are trying to do too much and it sometimes shows. Processes in place work for a 10-person org, but not one of this size.
