Pros

Work culture is fantastic. I have worked here for over 2 years and I get to work on cool, open source technologies. What's the best is that I get to contribute to the direction of the company by helping in evaluating new tools and technologies that we want to bring in as a part of our distribution in the long run - and I am still an engineer, writing code everyday.

Cons

We have an unlimited vacation policy. I know some people who haven't taken much vacation but I personally take ~3 weeks of vacation a year.

Pros

Cloudera hires really well, the team are the best and brightest, people are passionate about the company and the technology, and there is a "can do" attitude. There's an excitement but also a humility. The organisation structure is flat and there's a strong team culture across all the functions. The business is taking off with strong demand for our products across EMEA and in almost every industry vertical.

Cons

The company is growing fast and so the hours can be demanding, and in some roles the travel requirements are high.

Pros

Caveat: I am a current employee of Cloudera and I work remotely. As part of the product team, the work is very challenging, and I feel like I'm learning a lot. The people here are very understanding and are more than willing to work with you to bring you up to speed. I work remotely: the work life balance is fantastic, and as long as you get your work done and you let people know ahead of time if you have anything crop up, things tend to be okay. You will be challenged here, but I very much consider this a good thing. A lot of room for growth and learning from some of the smartest people in the industry.

Cons

Benefits are so-so: no 401k matching, and decent health benefits. Sometimes conflicting messages from my leads can confuse things, but these are typically resolved without a ton of issue. As a remote employee, communication can be challenging. This is a two way street, however.
