Decent pay and nice people

Cons

Horrible management, depend too much on you and make you feel guilty and people at the top do not care about managers and us at all

Pros

Er, none that I can think of.

Cons

Expected to go to work in other stores whenever they wanted, despite this meaning a longer commute with no additional pay.

Pros

Nice atmosphere, I’ve valued the friends I’ve made over the last 4 years of service with coop. Good pay for customer team members.

Cons

There are absolutely hundreds. I will list a few I think are imperative for head office workers to change for the sake of staffs mental well being. - Team leaders need paying more. The workload is absolutely abhorrent and the levels of stress you are under is just pathetic. - Give stores more hours to allocate to staff. The store I work in has Deliveroo, Uber eats, coop home delivery, John Lewis pick up, Amazon pick up and DPD pickup. The amount of hours you allocate to stores with this many services means there are mostly 2 staff members in and if we are lucky 3. We need at least 4 or even 5 per shift to alleviate stresses and pressure. - security guards in all stores. I’ve been abused that many times I can’t even begin to recall them all. These involve verbal abuse and on more times than I can think of physical. Coop offer no support with this. - Delivery is always an absolute shambles, turns up whenever it wants meaning there is no set routine as to when things can be done. I could go on and on. To summarise Coop as a company to not give one toss about anyone they employ. No support and people in head office who control spending have no idea what it is like to work in a shop. If you’re reading this thinking about taking a job at coop I would really consider not going for it. It’s gotten worse over my 4 years there and at the moment it’s at an all time low because of spending.
