A really poor experience

Employee discounts were fairly good.

Cons

Management team had very little consideration for work/life balance of employees - I was always asked to do extra hours at incredibly short notice and there wasn't enough support to ensure we could finish our shifts on time. I was even once asked to work on a day that I had booked off! Was made to feel guilty for having time off or not being able to work at a matter of three hours notice. Little appreciation for hard work. Not expecting anything much but a thank you would never have gone a miss.

We're sorry to hear about your experience with Co-op. We do try hard to make sure our colleagues have the right balance between work and home-life. Rotas are published 3 weeks in advance taking into consideration colleagues availability. There may be occasions where colleagues aren't able to work due to sickness absence and colleagues might be asked to work additional hours. At Co-op we don't expect colleagues to come in to work when they've booked time off.

-Do you enjoy abuse? -Fancy being a target for robbers working one on one late at night? -Are you a 'go getter' that enjoys facing the public with minimal training? -Want to work in a 'fast paced environment' because there is not enough staff to cover a ridiculous work load? Then the Co-op is the job for you!

Cons

All of it, absolute shambolic.
