Pros

Good people. Has potential if make it through strategic shift.

Cons

Poor annual planning due to too many initiatives competing for bandwidth. Chaos created by overlapping interests of consulting and sales teams.

Pros

Travel is between 30-40%. Employee benefits are very competitive. Corporate culture is not like other "big 4" firms--Coalfire commands a strong work ethic but truly embraces the work/life balance. With close to 600 employees (and rapidly growing) Coalfire has a unique way of making employees feel close to each other--not disconnected.

Cons

Growing pains. Currently Coalfire averages a new hire a day or every other day. While this is great in many ways, there are some areas that Coalfire could improve, such as: on-boarding new hires, formalized training within your practice, and communication between counterparts in different areas of the country e.g. (Coalfire has multiple offices throughout the US).

Pros

I've worked here for five years now, Coalfire is great place to work. Your team members are what makes Coalfire great, you will meet some of the most talented, hardworking, and prideful individuals at Coalfire. Most teams have exceptional leadership that help guide and train talent as new members join. Coalfire rewards exceptional work with bonuses, promotions, and kudos. Over the past five years they have worked to improve back office functions and make their employees lives easier. Lastly, Coalfire sends employee surveys frequently and will take immediate action based on the results. Actions are communicated during EVPs monthly all hands and CEO quarterly all hands.

Cons

There are one or two teams at Coalfire that have Directors, Senior Directors, Managing Principles that need to make improvements.
