Pros

Trying to keep small company values alive during growth, somewhat flexible with schedule and work/life balance, a reasonable amount of management, competitive compensation, a decent amount of personal latitude, company is doing well

Cons

Benefits are only so so, management doesn't receive much training - not too good on soft skills, career growth almost impossible after a certain number of years of service due to limited number of management/administration positions.

Healthy things grow. But growth can make you unhealthy if not managed well. We can't lose our focus; health first, growth follows. One of the reasons to grow is to create opportunity to accommodate your career objectives. Looks like we have some more work to do on the soft skills side of management. Not surprising, as we are engineers. But even us engineers can grow in this area of life, and figure out how to turn the nerd off and lead with empathy. Thanks for the feedback and for being on our team for so many years. Dave Ruff - CEO/President

Pros

The people are all wonderful to work with after 4 years of being here. Rarely a dull moment and we can still get together regardless of which discipline and have a good time.

Cons

Not a whole lot to be honest.

So glad to hear that your team and the broader Seattle team is having a good time! The more we operate as a high functioning team, the more fun and rewarding this will be. If you haven't already, please read Patrick Lencioni's "Five Dysfunctions of a Team" to help perpetuate this vision of high functioning teamwork. Seems like it is going right in your sphere, but to improve and guard against mediocrity, we all need to have expertise in how to function as a team. Dave Ruff - CEO/President

Awesome to hear that we have a good culture and fun people. That is a big part of what we are shooting for. I don't think that we should have an expectation of significant overtime. In bursts overtime is necessary in order to avoid over-hiring and then lay-offs (which is not Coffman). We also pay for every hour worked which greatly reduces the company's motivation for overtime. Long term overtime that is not desired should be able to be managed. The same with excessive travel for long periods of time that is undesired. Please reach out to someone (even me) and let us know what your needs are. Seems like there should be an amicable solution. Seriously, call me. Dave Ruff - CEO/President
