I see that your comment is labeled "former employee". I hope that your life circumstances will afford the opportunity to come back and join us. As far as salary, we do our best to remain competitive while balancing company health and avoiding a hire/fire culture that comes with an unstable business model. Dave Ruff - President

Poor local management

Pros

This is a fairly large company, yet the management style on a corporate level is consistent from office to office.

Cons

Although management on a corporate level is consistent, our local management lacks in consistency and unity.

Thanks for the feedback; both the pro and the con. It is encouraging that you experienced a consistent management style from most of our organization. Of course, it is troubling to hear that you don't feel the consistency permeating your local environment. You happen to be in our newest location where we recently merged with another company. During a merger the resulting culture and style becomes a blend of both companies. We influence each other and take the best from each to combine as a stronger whole. However, this is an inherently long process. Culture (which includes management style) is the driver behind consistency. Companies can fake themselves into thinking that policy and mandate are a quick fix to drive consistency, but if they succumb to that temptation, they will compromise the culture in the process. They gain compliance but choke the engine that really drives success. We want culture to be the main driver for change because it is the sustainable play for long term consistency. Unfortunately this sustainable approach takes time and may account for some perceived or experienced disparities. Thank you for your patience with this process. I am working with the local team to continue to unify our approach. All the best. - Dave Ruff, President

Pros

Amazing co-workers and company structure. Even though Coffman Engineers has locations in many locations we still work together like we our under one roof. I work just as much with people in my local office as I do with offices in other locations. Another positive is that everyone from the Project Managers to the CEO’s have an “open door” policy, no one is treated inferior, only as equals. They also have a great benefit program.

Cons

So far I have not found any cons.

The one company feel is certainly one of the differentiators for our company and we are working diligently to keep it that way. To that end, recently we started semi-annual summits with all of the general managers. The intent is to keep us unified as one team but allow for the autonomy that keeps us nimble and empowered. Tough to balance for sure, but worth the effort. Dave Ruff - President.
