      Organizational chaos and toxic culture

      Pros

      I've had the opportunity to work on many interesting projects in multiple verticals.

      Cons

      I became a Cognizant employee as part of an acquisition. What once was a warm, supportive culture was decimated by what I would characterize as a hostile corporatization. I would not recommend this employer.

      Large company with too many old practices

      Pros

      Lots of jobs inside many large companies (Nike) Pay good salaries, relocation benefits.

      Cons

      HR dept is mostly done by Indian workers. Emails are not returned same day. Takes multiple days to handle requests that would be handled same day in other companies. They do not back their employees. They do not have power to appeal with the companies you work with.

      -The people are great -Training is good -Good insurance -Work life balance

      Cons

      -Horrible pay -Monotonous, dead end work -Little opportunity for actual advancement or conversion to from contract to full time at your client site (their policies robbed me of a potentially VERY career advancing, lucrative opportunity at a major brand-name corporation, and I'm gonna be REALLY salty about until the day I die). -Managers keep merging teams together in a very unproductive fashion -Empty promise after empty promise from people who claim to have your best interests at heart, but are still managers in the end
