Pros

I have worked with Cohere for about 2.5 years. I started off as an RN reviewer, moved into writing denial letters and now am in a leadership position. Cohere has honestly been such a blessing for me. Not only do I get to work from home, cohere allows me to have a work life balance. The job is not stressful especially in comparison to what i was doing prior to coming to cohere. As with anything there is a learning curve. But Cohere allowed me to join the team even without any UM experience. They have so many resources available for the reviewers so that you always have a place to go if you have questions. As a company they listen to their employees- and actually care. They want to make the reviewing process as streamlined as possible and really want to make Cohere a great place to work. Other places I've worked, don't really care what you have to say- a process is a process and its not changing. Also the metrics and review goals are based off of how quickly the nurses are reviewing, so they are fair and achievable, but if for some reason you aren't reaching your metrics they work with you to help you meet your goals. And everyone is VERY nice ! I love working at Cohere.

Cons

No matter where you go there are always people that are unhappy with the status quo.

Pros

It is remote and that is the best perk

Cons

It is still a startup, minimal respect for working hours, interviewed and agreed to one role but ends up working something totally different

Pros

Interview~ Position was made out to be everything one would want in a career was a huge Pro, but was unfortunately was short lived and not the case once hired.

Cons

1. QUANTITY over Quality 2. Micromanagement 3. Constant growth sessions and evaluations with focus on productivity improvement of increase and metrics with threats of action plan and/or leading up to termination if unable to meet their unrealistic high expectations of Quantity 4. Pay is under par for what expected RN Salary position nationwide average and without more than once yearly increase determined per management as to your work worth 5. No room for growth if you express your ideas for the overall work process and/or bring attention to disagree 6. Growth and Management opportunities are chosen by personal likes in choices of other management employees and not by one’s knowledge, experience, or desire to learn further 7. Management team are skittish as in different answers on same question depending upon whom you finally get to after numerous steps prior to being able to ask your question to a management team member 8. On Zoom entirety of shift with limited ability to take a quick walk away as only want you away from screen for x2 -15 minute breaks and 1/2 or 1 hour unpaid lunch. No Job Flexibility as most often need to make up the hours per their time span determined and/or weekend within same week 9. Slack is utilized for communication and is overloaded with numerous channels pending the topic and is very unorganized leading to missing communication, updates, and immediate policy changes notifications 10. Accrual of PTO is accrued throughout the year and is low in comparison to other companies nationwide and comes with an extensive process of submitting for PTO use and awaiting an approval as well as potential more often than not in being waitlisted or denied a request as minimum number of employees allotted off per day 10. Unfairness of missing out of occasional company gifting and floating holiday time off not being advised to employees whom are on PTO or LOA 11. Cohere began as a Healthcare Company focusing on prior authorization at start up and over the short time in business since, the name, mission, values, and job focus of Cohere has changed to now being cited as a clinical intelligence company
