Pros

You learn a lot. As boring as accounting is, it truly is the language of business, so a few years in audit/tax/consulting will really go a long way in your career. Also, because of the nature of public accounting, after a couple of years you will have a large network which can help you make your next career move.

Cons

Nonstop work, and at times nonstop extremely mundane work. Team was constantly a revolving door and always running thin. It's consulting, so you are going to be sold as an expert in things you've never seen before and will either sink or swim. If you sink, it doesn't matter
