Pros

I was recruited with promises of a better work culture and a partner who understood the demands of public accounting. This proved to be false advertising. It's just another sweatshop with a 7-day-a-week availability expectation.

Cons

My experience at this firm has been deeply concerning. Despite initial promises of a positive work culture, the reality is a demanding environment requiring 7-day-a-week availability. Furthermore, I observed a disturbing pattern of people of color being disproportionately impacted by performance improvement plans and terminations. I strongly recommend prospective employees carefully consider these factors before joining.

Pros

Great people, flexibility in work assignments as long as work is completed in a timely manner, generally great benefits (fairly industry standard), sweet office/perks, interesting and unique industry opportunities when compared to peer firms, more opportunities for engagement accountability/management at more junior roles when compared to large firms (big4)

Cons

long hours (also industry standard), fairly sink or swim environment past the first year as it becomes your responsibility to manage your own career,

Pros

Management and most co-workers were nice and helpful. Although this position was seasonal, it paid very well. The company provides the equipment.

Cons

There were constant meetings, some that were not necessary, along with mandatory classes you had to take that I feel seasonal workers did not need. The work itself was a bit stressful to learn if you are not an accountant or don't have accounting knowledge. Training guidelines were inconsistent based on specific documents. There was a miscommunication about the position when I first got it. Also, prepare to have your shift hours change halfway through the season and prepare to work 12-hour days.
