Favoritism Leads to Promotions

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

The ability to work fully remote is the main pro that CR offers.

Cons

Health insurance options are not great, particularly if you’re single. Promotions seem to be given out based more on favoritism than on performance. You can get a 5 rating after spending over a year going above and beyond the written promotional guidelines and still not be promoted. Meanwhile, others are promoted for having a “good attitude” but produce subpar technical work and lack leadership skills, simply because they are friends with the correct crowd. The same applies to raises.

Pros

This company is in the 21st century as far as PTO, sick, and being flexible with work life balance. Nice job.

Cons

This company is huge so I am focusing on what department I was in. If you are new to the team, do not expect to be pals or even team accepted for many many years. If you are not one the old crew, you are not really welcome.
