Disappointing Technology Re-org

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

My feelings about College Board have changed with the new leadership but previously it was a good place for technology. The re-organization is sidelining the best leaders.

Cons

The recent leadership reorganization has led to a less diverse team, raising some concerns. Additionally, there’s been a noticeable shift in how successful, revenue-generating projects are being perceived, with increased oversight and a micromanagement approach. This has impacted the morale of the high-performing team that drove these successes, creating challenges in maintaining the same level of performance, especially after their contributions were not fully recognized.

Great benefits, subpar management

Pros

Benefits are great and include tuition reimbursement. Most employees are nice and willing to collaborate or help even if in different departments.

Cons

Management usually does consider the advise of team members who know the ins and outs of the daily work. 3 rounds of company layoffs within a 10 year period.

Pros

Helping students is an honorable mission; some teams have a really great culture, boss, peers, work/life balance; good retirement contributions, decent health coverage

Cons

It's can be bureaucratic; very high salaries at the top and low salaries at the bottom; cut groups of people without warning - no job security as many groups were sure they were good but got cut out of the blue;
