Pros

At the local offices, colleagues are friendly and talented, striving to do good work and collaborating openly, which creates a positive culture.

Cons

There are some serious limitations to professional development/growth for the younger staff. I’ve observed that they have been assigned to commercial program work for several years. Although there is skill development in these project types, they offer limited opportunities for work experience in other market sectors. Financial compensation is good for some, but quite uneven. Several junior and senior level staff are undervalued. At the corporate/National level, CED is often fragmented, disorganized, and dysfunctional because C-suite leadership spends little time coordinating and collaborating with local and regional leaders.

Flexible schedule, but poor management and low pay

Pros

Flexible schedule & ability to work remote or hybrid

Cons

The company does not communicate effectively among all staff. Upper management treats as-needed staff like they are trash and they don't take time to understand the discipline that they are in charge of. When the department is understaffed, the employees are told to just "work harder" instead of hiring more people. They interview people, make them believe they have a shot, then the managers ghosts them. Even though they label themselves as having "competitive" salaries, they pay less than some smaller companies. Large bonuses only go to managers after their staff does all the hard work. Regular staff gets small bonuses and baby raises each year. A lot of people resign after they refuse to do bigger raises because they can get hired for a lot more at other companies. Upper management also ignores all communication from regular staff. There are no repercussions to Upper management when there are HR complaints about them. Advancement in the company is super slow.
