Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, hearing from employees about what they would like to see changed in our processes, including things like fewer meetings, is always welcome. It sounds like there are aspects of your job that you are not content with, and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss them with you to work towards a solution. Should you wish to provide more direct feedback, please reach out to Allison Colantuoni, Chief People Officer, or any other member of our Human Resources team. Thanks again!

Pros

People in the local office are nice. They offer a lot of webinar training. Benefits are excellent.

Cons

There is rampant nepotism happening that affect company wide decisions and morale/culture. Select few maintain job security despite toxicity to the company. Unnecessary protocols exist for the sake of keeping people employed. Who the hell needs a travel agent to book their own reservations? Why the hell are they shipping furniture from Jersey to offices thousands of miles away instead of purchasing locally? It’s because someone’s cousin owns a travel agency and someone’s brother in law owns a freight company. Most of the reviews that are positive are not from the satellite offices outside the northeast. People who have inappropriate intra office relationships are kept on board. Every single discipline is divided out into different profit centers so people are not incentivized to work together. People fight over public and private clients to see who gets credit for what for the sake of a bigger bonus. Efforts to build culture are a joke. Efforts only exist in NJ. Hop on LinkedIn and look for people outside of the northeast who have longevity…there are none. It’s a complete mess. Don’t let them lure you into the guise of being the one to start it all. Do not work here unless there is a secure backlog of work. If no backlog exists and you are set out to create it, you won’t be successful unless you already have the relationships—at which point you could work for yourself. If you are not billable within the month of hire, run. Don’t waste your time and decimate your resume. By the way, they currently have 5 recordables. Absurd.

Despite the negative rating, appreciate your input as we continuously enhance our culture and support our employees’ success. We are proud of our roots and are invested in expanding our national footprint through recognizing and adding strong leadership across all business lines, geographies and at a national level. Maintaining a positive environment and culture where all employees feel respected and valued is a number one priority for Colliers Engineering & Design. We have concerns around the factuality of some of the points you make as the company has adequate controls in place that address the vendor selection process. We encourage you to reach out to our Chief People Officer, Allison Colantuoni, so that we may discuss further and provide accurate information.

Pros

Big firm with resources across multiple offices and states. Lots of opportunities for those who stay.

Cons

After Colliers acquisition it was clear the only priority from management was too grow the footprint as fast as possible. There is a very competitive culture at the management level to contribute to growth by bringing in new work in order to justify the major expansion. This leads to overworking of younger staff to take on additional workload and limiting their development and leading to lots of turnover
