      -the people are very nice to work with all over the US

      -they are slowly taking away and significantly changing policies that each legacy company had, like yearly bonus to start

      Good place to Start your career (Cedar Rapids, IA)

      Pros

      Slow pace work for the new graduates. Managers and senior coworkers are very supportive. Cheap housing (spend less than 10% of your income on housing). You have a lot of downtimes to pursue other hobbies and interests. No traffic in Cedar Rapids. Locals are nice and polite.

      Cons

      Cedar Rapids is not a good place for singles and young people. Nightlife sucks. No clubs! People prefer passive entertainment like drinking.

      Pros

      A lot of material for resume padding. Great Employee Scholar Program, and a superb training ground for the "corporate business model". Decent benefits. A reasonable place to spend the first five years or last five years of your career.

      Cons

      Beyond the first tier of management, it really seems like there is a lack of understanding of the work that is actually being done -and what it takes to get it done. A lot of performance pressure with very little support from upper management. Career advancement is possible, but it seems that internal transfers are short-changed on salary offers. Some policies can be confusing and most are poorly enforced.
