Pros

got exposed to analytics & data science. safe job, good pay, automatic raises

Cons

stiff, old school work culture. a lot of focus on putting out fires and repetitive, cyclical tasks rather than developing and learning. management got increasingly overbearing with expectations and work load and passed down the stress. was asked to do analytics without any kind of training or tools

Pros

Work from home, for now... Work not going anywhere. Might be recession proof? Probably not though. Learning and experience to be had.

Cons

Experienced engineers paid 30% less than peers in the industry. Why? Because they can. Management is a revolving door, less and less experience. Engineering is a revolving door, less and less experience. Good people leave because the PAY SUCKS. Nothing will change until Illinois has rolling brownouts. Otherwise, the people upstairs could give less of a ....
