Good culture, pay, and job security

Pros

Culture is innovative, safety oriented, and customer experience focused. Pay is competitive. Benefits are competitive. Large variety of opportunities - connetions to parent company Exelon.

Cons

Work-life balance is good, but there are a few departments where work takes priority - but this is the life you choose when in the business of critical energy service. Customers hate you - but in recent years have been approving more of ComEd. While the culture is innovative, there are few opportunities to innovate given the conservative nature of the business - which is fine, as long as you don't expect a Google/Facebook culture.

Pros

ComEd is a big company with a lot of opportunity. In my time there I was able to involve myself in a wide variety of high-profile projects even as an entry-level employee. Benefits were pretty good when I started but in talking to the people that have been hired after me it sounds like those benefits have been reduced.

Cons

The department that I was in had very little respect for work-life balance (emergency support not included) and was run by some old-fashioned leaders who were more interested in measuring the time on your timesheet than the actual tangible work you got done.
