This was the most miserable job I've ever had. The friends I made at work were just as miserable. My actual pay was so low and the monotony of taking calls all day for the whole day was depressing and boring. Sitting at my desk all day caused extreme lower back pain. I asked if I could get a standing desk but they told me they would only provide it if I provided them disability forms. I just ended up propping my computer on other things so I could stand up once in a while. It all felt so mundane, repetitive, and pointless. PTO was also hard to get for holidays. Hopefully it's improved by now.

Pros

They offer valuable experience in the counseling profession, including conducting intake assessments, crisis intervention, case management and treatment planning. They promote from within. I started as a Guidance Consultant, and have since had several promotions to now be in a leadership role. They reward loyalty. At ten years of service, you are gifted a Rolex. At 20 years the gift is a car, at 30 years, it's a 2-week all-expenses paid vacation. They are open to flexible scheduling and working from home to accommodate employees' life circumstances.

Cons

The health benefits are a bit on the expensive side. That said, my daughter had multiple health problems, and ComPsych's health insurance provided her with the best care she could get.
