Pros

I worked with some of the brightest Engineers I've ever met in my 8 years at Comcast. I was a part of some challenging projects, and grew professionally under the mentor-ship of some great managers. Benefits were good, compensation was fair. I had opportunities to work directly with several members of the C-suite and found it very rewarding.

Cons

Opportunities for advancement were limited at least at the senior level where I was. Initially I had some excellent management but over the years they were replaced with corporate-types who were not adept at managing highly technical staff and it often created friction. Process was always more of a hindrance than an enabler. Politics at the senior level were tedious and pervasive.
