Pros

- The engineers I met at Comcast are extremely bright and intelligent. Not to mention that everyone has something to teach you, whether it's related to work or life! I definitely made life long friends here. - The technical recruiter I worked with prior to starting at Comcast was incredibly kind, transparent, and in constant communication with me. - The benefits are amazing, as are the opportunities for continuous learning. - Extremely diverse working environment which was great!

Cons

- Management is clueless on how to navigate the continually evolving landscape of technology and AI. - In terms of outlook, the company is stagnant in its growth and rapidly losing customers in a very competitive wireless and entertainment landscape. If management is unable to steer the company into a more positive outlook, then Comcast will continue to be a great place to lay back, relax, and collect a check (if you don't get laid off first). - If you're earlier in your career, try not to spend more than 2-4 years here, as it will make you less desirable to employers outside of the telecom industry. - If you're working on high-visibility or high-tech projects, be prepared to work multiple roles due to how under-resourced most organizations at Comcast are. Be prepared to explain very simple things to unqualified management, such as why a machine learning model can't be developed in 3 days. - Comcast is a top-heavy company, meaning there are significantly more layers of management than there are engineers. - Comcast is the only Fortune 50 company that lacks invention or innovation. Their market penetration is so deep that the only thing they truly iterate on is how to squeeze their customers for every single penny through fixed or variable pricing models.
