Employee Surveys aren’t really anonymous
Pros
If you land with the right boss in a growing organization it can be a great place to work.
Cons
They use employee surveys to hunt for anyone who questions the efficacy or actions of the leaders. I filled one out that simply said they were being inconsistent in their messages about “Titles aren’t important.. we’re all part of the same team..”. The next week they held a strategy meeting and said “.. Director level and above only..”. Within two weeks of filling out the “anonymous” survey I was called into the manager’s office and pointedly asked “.. are you not happy with your job here?” When I spoke with a co-worker about the experience she said “if you give them a bad review on those surveys they are filtered by the organization that they came from and they make the managers track down who said it.” I ended up losing my job for telling the truth. It’s like working for the GOP.
