Useful mission but bad leadership

Pros

Rank and file really believe in the mission. At its best, Common Sense provides an important service for parents and teachers.

Cons

Sadly, the organization isn't usually firing on all cylinders. Teams hoard resources and don't seem to be able to work together. The bosses can mean well, but they also seem out of touch. Still waiting for somebody to say something good about Jim.

Pros

Mission, some smart and nice people. Well-funded. Good benefits. Work-life balance.

Cons

No development tracks for most managers or coordinators. They play favorites. If you’re a favorite, great. If not, good luck with getting the support you need. Little to no training. Many times expectations do not match support levels. Some departments are supportive of their team, others are not.
