The organization is large and fairly disorganized, partly a result of many mergers, and partly because upper leadership does not communicate well about process and direction.

The culture of the company is about profits not patients. Chi constantly pushes its ideological beliefs into every day practices at Virginia Mason. The unique culture that put patients at the top is a distant memory replaced by a push to see a minimum number of patients regardless of complexity. As an employee it is next to impossible to align with an organization so out of touch as chi and vm. Truly sad to see a decline of a fantastic healthcare system.
