Difficult IT Environment

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

Emphasis on serving underserved communities.

Cons

Lack of IT national funding makes maintenance, let alone innovation, very difficult. IT executive leaders are over-controlling making technical decisions that would normally be left to IT teams and staff. Input is not sought or even accepted from even senior technical staff. Over recent years many of the most talented technical leaders, designers, engineers have left. Lots of talk of being a welcoming and collaborative team environment but reality is different.

Pros

Amazing team, very inclusive, hard working and very supportive team members

Cons

Micromanagement by Supervisor, low pay rate, inadequate staff resulting in current staff members being overworked. No offer for retention bonuses like in other places. Disconnected management from real life on the floor with unrealistic expectations. Management team members turnover very high so nothing of real importance to the team gets done.

Not Great

Pros

"humankindness" is their motto. There is a beautiful fountain... that used to work.

Cons

Holidays come out of employee's personal PTO bank. 2 days of sick leave per year. Health insurance does not cover anything outside of network-extremely limited. The CEO is actively preventing healthcare workers' pay to be increased to a minimum of $25/hr.
