Pros

A mission-driven organization that wants to empower others to greater self-sufficiency. Dedicated staff who care about the people we serve. Management respects my knowledge, skills, and experience and does not micro-manage, but is available for direction and support when needed. Good pay and benefits and generous match on retirement contributions. I have the resources I need to do the job effectively and feel valued and respected for what I contribute. The organization invests in my professional growth through training and educational opportunities.

Cons

A wide variety of programs and services can lead to departmental "silos" where staff may not always see the big picture. The organization does try to address this with monthly all-staff meetings to foster a sense of connection. Staff can have large client caseloads and are often dealing with people in crisis which can create stress.

Pros

There is a culture of wellness in the organization. They have a trauma informed approach to their work. This requires their focus on emotional and physical safety of their staff. The organization is supportive to their employees.

Cons

It would be nice if their base pay was higher for the front line staff.
