Higher management is not connected to us, even though they may attend meetings.

We are always advocating for better wages for our staff with the legislature and the State. Tremendous progress has been made in recent years but we know we still have some more work to do. Our senior leaders, or human resources team members are always willing to meet with employees who have concerns. Great Benefits, Friendly and Accessible Leadership

Pros

There's a real sense of teamwork and collaboration. Leadership is friendly and accessible. Schedules are flexible and conducive to a great work/life balance, particularly post-COVID. There's also a fun and vibrant wellness program, with some great incentives to get and stay healthy. I find the benefits to be excellent, with very decent medical and dental plans, as well as generous CTO.

Cons

Staffing is currently a real struggle, and everybody is feeling the strain of it. The pay is decent, but it's a non-profit, so it can't compete with places like the hospital. This is offset by a very good benefits package, though. There is always a LOT of work to do. There are a lot of moving parts, and things are constantly changing. This can feel overwhelming sometimes. The support is there, but you have to be comfortable asking for it if you need it.
