Great people

Pros

Lots of talented staff, great to work with people who know what they're doing. The benefits package is very robust overall. The company is always trying to improve itself in more ways and actively seeks feedback and involvement from the employees for this.

Cons

Internal politics, transparency, and resources seem to vary in quality from team to team. Changes in department structure happen often and can throw these out of balance.

Pros

The culture at Compass is so different than it was during my 14 combined years when I worked at Sotheby's and Coldwell Banker. From upper management down to lower level employees, everyone makes you feel valued and special. They make you feel like they are lucky to work with you. They do that for everyone, not just me. It was the opposite at my other brokers. If you weren't one of the select few of the favorites, things weren't so good. The technology is exceptional. Every real estate company says they are great at technology but I feel Compass is the only one that gets it right. They are always testing and getting opinions from the agents. They have thick skin. They would prefer to hear what they can do to improve than to get high fives for the things that they created that are great. Always thinking outside of the box is what helps agents grow our businesses exponentially. Two examples are Compass Concierge and Bridge Loans. I can't remember the last time I competed against another agent and the sellers thought the other broker brought more value. The Artificial Intelligence is great and Joseph Sirosh is absolutely amazing and so committed to taking our AI to the next level. During our Compass REtreat at the end of last year in Miami Beach, while nearly 2,000 Compass agents waited in line to get inside the building, Joseph waited outside in the heat speaking one on one to as many agents as he could to improve what's working and what they could do better. There is so much more I could say, but I think you get the idea that Compass is AMAZING!

Cons

I can't really think of any cons. The only thing I can think of is that they still don't have the medium sized t-shirt that I want to buy in the Compass Boutique store.

Not a good place to work

Pros

Your colleagues and some of the agents make this job bearable

Cons

If you work in marketing, you will consistently work 50+ hour weeks, and be expected to manage upwards of 100 accounts yourself. You will not have a moment to eat lunch or breathe between meetings, and you will be held to an incredibly high professional standard (when the agents you work with are often unreasonable, unrealistic and extremely unprofessional.) There is a lack of transparency from HQ to other markets regarding initiatives and changes in OKRs, and management can be disappointing and make decisions without all of the information.
