Pros

I had Great peer team members.

Cons

When I started they were St. Vincent Hospice and they were great. Very compassionate and cared for the patients. When compassus took over the drive turn from care to money. And they lost interest in what is best for the pt and family.

Pros

some provided equipment, some mileage reimbursement, poor pay

Cons

I can not begin to describe the hot mess that the Lancaster, PA branch was . I am truly not a hateful person but I had to get away from the toxic mindset that is Compassus. Unfortunately, I was not aware of the fact at the time of my hire that I would be truly alone as a social worker and I was the 5th social worker at the time of my hire, within a 2 year period. I was denied vacations and sick time with calls to my personal phone when I was sick and on the one vacation time that I went on as well. It is also my understanding that after I left that there have been several more social workers, which seems to be a trend of the company. chew and spit them out is there motto. When I wanted to take vacation, I was told that I had to coordinate with other branch social workers and it was rare that help was given. When another branch lost their own social worker, I was expected to cover with them as well. Which meant that I had a territory very north of Lebanon and into Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties which ended up a total of 120+ patients on my own. Which was insane. The office manager left multiple times throughout the day, was irritated with questions from the office staff and generally wanted to be left alone and showed questionable behavior most of the time. I begged for another social worker to come and help with the territory and the caseload but was met with nasty comments and reviews that I could be doing better. I had a great relationship with the staff but the upper management needed to get it together and poisoned everyone against each other at any given time. A support group of sorts was formed after employees left just due to the evil behavior that came from the corporation. I really felt bad for the patients as well and tried my best as much as I could but ultimately left.
