Pros

It really didn’t have any pros for me.

Cons

I joined as a per diem NP for palliative care in CT. I was told there would be an online orientation I can do at home and that I would then be given consults. When I arrive to pick up equipment, I am handed an LPN job description by an administrative assistant in an empty office. I point out that it is the wrong job description and am told it is the same thing and to just sign. I am also told there is not equipment ready for me and I am expected to stay on site for the 80 hour orientation which must be done in 2 weeks. When I explain that this is a per diem job and I was told it would be online I am told I have to stay for the day. I sit there for 4 hours while the person is trying to order equipment since it is not ready yet. It took me going back several more times to get the equipment and contacting a corporate national educator to get the correct job description. I also never met or directly communicated with my supervisor in my entire time there and on the time set up that was supposed to be a meet and greet she never showed up. Not a single person from the corporate palliative care team to the administrative staff in the CT office could explain to me how the palliative program worked in the CT office and how I would receive consults. I was not given access to the EMR for over two months, which is necessary to do the job. At that point I gave up. If Compassus doesn’t care about their company and program, why should I? It was the most disorganized and unprofessional experience I’ve ever had with a company. To top it off, all of the time I had to spend trying to coordinate my onboarding and orientation was uncompensated and this was hours of time on my end.

Profit above patient care

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits, tuition reimbursement.

Cons

Patients get very poor care. Any other hospice in the area provides better care than this company (patients were allowed ONE visit per week,) no support at end of life. "Call us when he dies," is the mantra. Compassus bought a vibrant company in Meridian, ID and ran it into the ground in two years.

Pros

Decent pay and PTO. That's why I'm here.

Cons

An employee leaves corporate and writes a negative review. Suddenly there are numerous, positive corporate reviews. Keep looking, the 'real' reviews are here and they are negative. I work in corporate and I speak the truth. Any company that has to try so hard to make it appear as though they have a positive culture is truly lacking.
