Pros

When I have an issue, either with a patient or a coworker all I have to do is talk to my manager (DCS), or my branch manager (AOC). They both take time to actively listen to thoughts, ideas, and growth suggestions that I have, and have implimented them into training for new hires.

Cons

There are always more people out there that need help, and I wish we had more nurses that actually wanted to work. The ones who have come on recently have left quickly without giving hospice a chance. You really must have a "Hospice Heart" to work in this industry. Otherwise, the ones we have are amazing, no cons!

Pros

I am a new RNCM at Compassus and I am very impressed so far. I was given 3 weeks of great training before I was given a patient load. The Director of Clinical Service check on me often and is very helpful. Everyone has been so nice and I love the patients and families. Hospice is so rewarding and helping patient at the end of life can be stressful but extremely rewarding. Compassus works very hard to give their employees work life balance and I really appreciate that from the management.

Cons

It can be stressful and you have to be flexible to work in hospice. Everyday can be different depending on the acuity of the patients. Gas prices going up.
