Pros

A good way to learn more about devices

Cons

Was told there's pay raises and growth opportunities -- that was a lie. Was always on call once a month even though there were over 4 techs on the team. Too much is expected out of you despite never getting paid more. Barely was getting 20 -30 hours of work a week then let go due to not working enough, did not make sense.

Pros

Team-mates are cool and good people.

Cons

Low Pay for High Expectations You’re essentially working two roles (field tech + delivery/logistics) but only getting paid for one. The compensation doesn’t match the workload or cost of living in places like NYC. Glorified Amazon Driver at Times A large part of the job feels like package delivery—hauling gear, picking up parts, transporting equipment—rather than purely IT support. No Real Investment in Systems or Infrastructure Company cuts corners constantly—refusing to invest in better systems or workflows that would make the job more efficient. Unwelcomed Pickups at Third-Party Stores Being sent to places like CVS to pick up parts where staff look at you like an inconvenience. It’s awkward, inefficient, and unnecessary. No Real Support for Inventory or Equipment Storage Instead of providing a warehouse or proper tech depot, you're forced to load a family van full of equipment and dig through it in the street just to find the right part. Chaos in the middle of NYC. Denied Basic Tools for the Job Requests for helpful equipment like a hand truck get denied. You’re expected to carry heavy boxes for 1–2 blocks just to reach client sites. Inventory System Feels Outdated and Clunky The system used for tracking parts and inventory feels stuck in the ‘90s. It’s not intuitive, wastes time, and adds unnecessary frustration. Micromanagement Meets Lack of Real Support You’re often micromanaged on details that don’t matter while the big-picture support you actually need—tools, resources, pay—gets ignored.

Pros

They pay for your mileage and troubleshooting experience.

Cons

There is no real growth within the company. They will push you to go into management. They do not value your time or expertise. I've worked for this company for 8 years and made a measly $16.25. They will hire you to sit at a company that gutted their IT department and bring in people from Compucom to pick up the slack. I find it embarrassing when your average Joe working at those companies gets paid 2x the amount that Compucom pays yet we are "critical" to the operations of those companies. Compucom is a scam and needs a major overhaul. This company drove me out of their operations because they wanted to operate on a skeleton crew. I left the company to become a software engineer. They did offer me another position but once again, Compucom will never pay you the same salary or even match the other people who are not contracted. If you do decide to work for Compucom, do it only for 2 years and get the hell out. Do not waste your time with this company. I'm still trying to make up what I should've been paid for years ago.
