Pros

certifications if given time or approved. Pay is ok. PTO and benefits

Cons

Incompetent managers. Hiring practices from outside instead of within. No raises or respect for years of service. Hr mess ups with tax, pto, and pay. One person responsibilities, no breaks due to incompetents of schedules. They care only about money and meeting corporate goals instead of the endusers. Much more....

Pros

This is a great place to work for those who have a passion about working in Recruiting and Information Technology. Compucom works with some of the biggest technology companies in the world. This is great for people who are actively looking for work because these companies always have openings because of growth and they pay their contractors very well. The culture of Compucom is one that is fun, rewarding, and challenging. You have a team lead and a great group of colleagues who will help you along the way. When you begin training, you are paired up with veterans who will show you the tips and tricks of what makes them successful. There are very little meetings you need to attend weekly so you have a good amount of time to spend on the phone networking and connecting with candidates. Compucom gives you all of the tools to be successful as a Recruiter. They even have an HR team and Resource Management team so you are the front line and don't have to work a full desk. The team atmosphere is great as people really enjoy what they do and they celebrate successes. No one is intimidating in the office as open dialogue is encouraged. If you are looking for work in IT, odds are there is a position that matches what you are looking for. The companies are respected clients and contractors are eligible for benefits from day one if they choose so and can get a free Orca card in the Seattle area which is pretty cool. If you like a good work atmosphere, a good challenge, good food, good people and good clients to put people to work at, then Compucom is a good choice. I can honestly go home at the end of the day and say I made a difference and that is what matters most.

Cons

Like any company, there can be office drama sometimes. Tune yourself out of it and you will be fine.

Working off the clock to keep the job

Pros

Fair benefit package with insurance and 401K. However you won't be paid enough to afford to contribute to the 401K.

Cons

No pay raises. Expected to work off the clock at least 2 to 3 hours a day. You will need to run 60 to 80 service calls a month to stay in the green with management. Expected to deceive and lie to customers. No tools or support from management. Expected to travel 30,000 to 40,000 miles a year in your own vehicle and receive low mileage reimbursement. Job threatened constantly if you don't work on certifications or finish up projects that can't be completed in a normal 8 hour day forcing you to work off the clock to keep your job. No reimbursement for training materials such as books and DVD's. , No lunch breaks for field techs even though accounting deducts 1 hour every day. You eat as you drive from one job site to another. If you complain you will be terminated and then when terminated it will be done in a fashion that reports it as a voluntary termination to avoid paying unemployment. Sent out to a job sites that are several hours away toward the end of the day and then not paid for the commute back home. The job market is starting to recover, then I can just walk out. To understand the culture just watch "Office Space". Upper management does not care and middle management is too busy doing direct reporting. I have three managers I have to report to daily, a nightmare.
