Pros

Outsourcing assignments provide the opportunity to work in different industries so the work is not monotonous.

Cons

Loyalty means little so don't expect to be rewarded for staying with the company for 20+ years. Business is business, and you are simply an employee. It is easy to get pigeon-holed if you are not careful.

Pros

Short term 1-3 years - you can gain a lot of experience as an IT/IS Infrastructure Project Manager, work with super people, industry leading technologies and partners.

Cons

Too many opportunities to work harder and longer instead of smarter; sad for a consulting firm that helps clients do so - but not for themselves. Long term the cost of staying with the firm becomes MORE significant without tangible advancement as raises are withheld, and past benefits shrink YOY.
