Pay and some decent coworkers and that’s about it

Cons

They hire/ promote people based entirely on Diversity goals. Unaccomplished people who have done nothing special in their careers get promoted to managers and senior managers. I don’t know how others continue working there after such treatment of being passed over in favor of far less qualified people. If you’re not in a diverse category, then plan on taking abuse such as unreasonable and often unwarranted criticism of job performance. It’s a toxic and draining experience.

- Great work-life balance, hardly any OT (except for unplanned outage support) - Fairly standard 401k match for industry - Decent health benefits, HSA contribution - Stock purchase plan with 10% discount - Tuition reimbursement - Great company culture for DEI and safety - Inspiring leadership but also willing to get their hands dirty - Lots of creative freedom to approach solving problems how you wish - No retaliation or punishment for making mistakes, takes a lessons learned from every incident - Opportunity for hybrid or remote work depending on your department

Cons

- Onboarding and orientation is a bit unorganized, there's not a lot of guidance or supervision on what a new employee should be doing (can be a good thing if you do like independence in your work) - Remote work can make it hard to meet and collaborate with others in the business, heavy reliance on your supervisor to get you connected to the right people - Not many technical documentation because OEM materials are proprietary. A lot of knowledge has to be obtained through word-of-mouth or OJT. - A lot of employees are tenured on the older side; not too many young bloods to keep the work pipelines going. - Work is more operations based, as it should be for a generation company. However compared to other sectors, you might not get much design or engineering work. Most workload revolves around maintenance, troubleshooting, compliance, and condition monitoring.
