Pros

Guaranteed placement if you are able to get through the FastTrackD program, which is extremely fast paced, time intensive, and one of the most rewarding endeavors I have personally been involved with.. Prepares candidates for entry into the job market by exposing and building on a core set of educational criteria that highlight industry technology and standards. Competitive salary, full benefits, amazing support from the company, and job security. This is hands down the best choice I could have made to enter into the Enterprise job market as a Java developer. I passed over several opportunities for internships for the sole purpose of attending Cooks FastTrackD program, and I do not regret that decision one little bit. I have met so many amazing, intelligent, and talented people while working for Cook and look forward to a long career working for them.

Cons

Not really a con, but if you enter the FastTrackD program expecting an easy ride, then the program is likely not for you. The program is fast-paced and requires a great deal of time to master the knowledge you are taught. By design the class is made to challenge you intellectually, and push you to the level of excellence that is needed to succeed in today's enterprise environment.

Pros

The co-workers seemed pleasant. Company has a lot of rhetoric to stand for its "values."

Cons

The scheme to become an "Employee" involves a 6-10 week course taught by untrained workers who read from a collection of worksheets one of the owner's sons wrote up in his spare time. Course is led mostly by contract workers waiting until they can be placed on a project. The Company prompts students to sign Non-Compete Clauses which are unethical and bar the potential employee from working in Tech sector, should they not be hired by Cook Systems. The entire scam is abhorrent and should be avoided at all costs. The company takes advantage of anyone desperate enough to take a crack at the course as a chance at learning Enterprise JAVA skills. Especially fond of preying on former Military trying to gain skills in the modern economy.
