Great First Job in the Industry

Pros

If you're smart and can learn fast, they'll invest time, effort, and money in you up-front to get you in the industry and up to speed even if you don't have any experience or knowledge. When you're not on a contract, you end up getting paid to increase your skills, which is hugely helpful. Your superiors, even high ups in the company, get to know and care about you as more than a profit-generating cog in the machine. The ones I've interacted with have also been great people, especially Bob Fortenberry.

Cons

The pay is low for the work you're doing and PTO isn't enough to meet my needs. There's a lot of pressure and expectations on you to perform very highly.

Great Opportunity!

Pros

The Fast Track'D program is by far one best solution in addressing the lack of opportunities when it comes to finding software development positions. The story for most people is you seek out a job and find out you need 2 - 3 years minimum even for entry level. But how are you suppose to get the experience if you are not offered the opportunity. Well Cook Systems did that for me and a whole lot of others and it has been 2 years now. I was immediately placed on a client's project upon graduation and not only have I worked with java but also C#, PHP, VB, .NET Framework, database management and more. I am forever grateful to Cook Systems for giving me the opportunity to start my IT career.

Cons

The recruitment process needs a little improvement as far as how the recruiters seek out candidates. There is a bit of challenge finding the right candidates without going through a whole lot of those who are unqualified. But the process is being strength daily and I believe that it will get better over time

Pros

I recently completed the Fast TrackD program, and I have to say that it's a great way to get your foot in the door. Many positions I previously applied for asked for 0 - 5 years of experience, but this only requires the ability and desire to learn, good work ethic, etc. It was definitely challenging, but I don't regret a single moment of it.

Cons

The website. It's not bad, but I probably would have gone with a different color scheme, and maybe some different buttons.
