The SRE leads demonstrate blatant favoritism, often supporting individuals with poor technical knowledge while sidelining those who are actually competent. Decisions are driven more by personal bias and office politics than by merit or performance. Several team members were let go, not due to performance, but seemingly because of personal grudges held by the SRE technical lead. This created a hostile and insecure environment, where speaking up or disagreeing with certain individuals could cost you your job. Morale was constantly low, and collaboration suffered as a result of this toxic culture. For anyone considering a role in this team, I would strongly advise asking direct questions about team dynamics and leadership during the interview process.
