Pros

Work from home, potential for a decent income - however more no compensation work is added to the workload all the time. Base salary plus commission, good medical.

Cons

The higher up management never give anything a chance to work. Constant changes and failed promises on salary, bonuses, etc. make for a very unstable and hostile work environment. No paid time away.

Pros

Copart is relatively recession proof due to the core business model. It is easy to get hired.

Cons

If you don't work in the core business (salvage yards that buy wrecked cars from insurance companies) the company is very unstable. Senior management does not understand how to effective diversify with other business models and are not capable of effectively developing programs, processes, technology, marketing or management to execute on anything outside of buying wrecked cars and auctioning them to salvagers and rebuilders. The company allows NO time off for the first YEAR. Yes, you heard me correctly NONE. The pay structures are very poor. Wages are low, incentives are not effectively structured. Bonuses and recognition are nonexistent. The company treats people as an expendable resource. Employees are not valued and everyone is considered replaceable. Higher level managers and technology professionals with strong knowledge and experience generally leave quickly or are asked to leave by a highly overreactive senior management team. The copart direct purchasing arm is horribly managed. Communication is poor when it occurs. Management of process is nonexistent. Agents who find the best methods to cheat the established systems make the most money and line level management consistently turns a blind eye. If you're not ready to lie, cheat and basically rip off your coworkers, stay away from the purchasing organization.

Pros

Competitive pay and benefits. Enjoyed the actual "work" aspect of operating the loader.

Cons

Poor management, extremely high turnover rate, no overtime. Too many double standards.
