Favoritism, but some management is no longer working there.
Previous employees in my position were not as well-skilled and they received better salaries out of favoritism. Example, one was not able to perform simple computer tasks that are learned in high school, but he started with a higher pay than me. He even showed me his paystub. When I asked my boss why I wasn't paid more in my employee review, he pushed back and said I was adequately compensated for my experience. Not true of the employee before me, since this was his first job and I had 10 years of work experience.
