Pros

Enjoyed my time at Core-Mark. Worked with a great team that always made you feel part of a team.

Cons

Salary was a low for the job. Should have made it more commission based.

Pros

I really cant think of any pros for a driver at this company.

Cons

Running a ramp, your knees and feet will take a beating. Always in a rush. No time to relax you're on the go go go. The pay, the only way you're gonna get paid good money working here is by working your butt off. They pay you route pay, not hourly. So if you have a freak load of cubes in your trailer and a grip of miles on a route. You will make ok money i guess, to me the pay was not even close to worth it. Your body gets beat up. I feel like i got screwed on my pay a bunch of times. To figure out your pay is a damn math equation from hell. So many variables in your pay to add everything up and make sure your route pay is correct is a nightmare. Oh and team pay will screw you over. You have to have a minimum of 950 cubes if you are partnered with another driver to make 100% route pay, if it is below that you get 70% pay for that day. That is ridiculous. So say you go on a very long day trip. 11-14 hrs. You have 900 cube which is still a lot. You get SCREWED on that pay. You make nothing. To make money here your gonna have to get a route that has a lot of cubes, and you need a lot of miles. Pay was too unpredictable due to covering routes when you first get hired. Ya some seniority guys might make good coin. But they are working their butts off and getting beat up by that stupid ramp. I will never run a ramp again. I work for freight now and my body feels so much better. And i am a young guy. The managers i had were horrible. No communication. Lack of leadership. Just seem to not care. Didn't know what they were doing, always a circus there. I didn't enjoy one second driving there. I got out as soon as i could. DEAD END JOB.
