Pros

CPY is a place filled with kind, bright and focused people. For the most part it is a joy to go to work and get to manage a space built around wellness. Managing for CPY requires long hours, but the fact that you can make a flexible schedule and balance out your day with a yoga class helps keep the balance. Teaching classes and leading trainings is a wonderful way to feel connected and grounded and I love the community I am a part of. The company is grounded in yogic principles and has done a good job of keeping the culture of corepower yoga alive during a big period of growth.

Cons

CPY pays a pretty low annual salary for the amount of responsibility and work required to do the job well, especially in premium markets. Even when you do everything right, the bonus payouts feel small and pretty insignificant. There is also little to no staff development and very few outside benefits - no 401k, no tuition matching, and no real funds for education or growth. There is also very little room to move up in the company if you are not willing to uproot and move to a new market.

Pros

Free yoga for you (plus a spouse/friend) when teaching a regular class Great instructors. Lots of locations to use your free yoga.

Cons

The pay is sooo bad. Equates to $12-$15/hour. The communication internally is ridiculous. Emails on emails on emails that don't matter to you. The important emails get buried in unprofessional lengthly emails from managers. New corporate team is completely commercializing the studio. You are asked to constantly sell whatever high-priced program is upcoming. Their technology systems are a joke. Constant login and security issues.

Care and Flexibility

Pros

I have worked for CorePower for many years. I have seen managers, teachers and all levels of employees come and go. I have experienced so much change and growth personally and professionally. One thing has remained a constant, as a company CorePower cares for their people. Especially if you care and put your heart into CPY! Of course there is stress. It is a job. As jobs go, CPY is a great company to work for. You are able to be creative, you have a flexible schedule and you work alongside and for people who are honestly trying to better themselves.

Cons

It's not for everybody. You need to humbly work your way up the ranks.
