      Great place to work if you like to bring breakthrough innovations to market

      Pros

      There's not many companies that have as rich of a tradition for innovation as Corning. Think of a world without light bulbs, displays (from early days of CRTs to ultra high def LCDs), catalytic converters, optical fiber, and touch screens with Gorilla Glass... you really can't. That's what Corning brought to us. If you like working on tangible products (not an app or something that lives in a cloud), this is a great company.

      Cons

      It's location, location, location (or not). With the primary research HQ based in Corning, NY, most business and technology jobs are restricted to this area. If you have a family and like the small towns vibe, you'll find yourself at home (as long as you don't mind 6 month long winters)

      Pros

      Good company, work is not too physical, good benefits.

      Cons

      Work 12 hour rotating shifts from days to nights, sometimes have overtime scheduled to where you will do a 24 hour flip from a day or night shift to the opposite. Very little room for advancement. They do not work meetings into the 12 hour schedule, so you could work 13 to 14 hours in one shift. They have a lot of meetings.

      Lots of Training Programs and Practical Projects to work on. People there were nice and friendly.

      Cons

      Big company, busy schedule, so its hard reach out to someone for questions.
