Pros

Great culture that values personal time and work-life balance. Interesting work for engineering type jobs. Great benefits package that includes 401(k) matching, Pension and site based performance bonuses.

Cons

Corning seems to have a hard time firing employees that don't perform. This can frustrate employees who believe they are dragging the department/business down.

Pros

Strong company with a breadth of opportunities in different technology arenas. Able to attract strong talent. Great place to live if you like rural setting and outdoor activities. Amble opportunity for international travel and assignments.

Cons

The area is a throwback to earlier days of manufacturing. If you're more metropolitan and enjoy activities such as theater, shopping, or clubbing, you are going to be real disappointed.
