Stay away if you are looking to grow your career and salary

Pros

- Great work life balance - Exposure to some of the challenging technical problems - There pockets of people who really are passionate about what they do, and if you find them collaborate with them

Cons

- Literally no growth in salary (if you take CPI into considerations). Promotions and annual salary raises are all meant to just barely match inflation. Your manager will obviously make it sound like you are getting the best treatment, but it is all lies. - You are your own advocate, not your manager or director, or anyone. You really need to fight for your professional growth. - Internal politics is a major bottleneck in getting work done. At the end of the day you will be trying to please an underqualified director or manager to soothe their ego. - last but not the least: LOCATION. It might work for some people, but it's not for everyone.
