Pros

We close at 6pm. Wholesale beauty sales which means we don’t deal with the public in mass.

I’ve been at this company for almost 10 years hoping they would improve how they treat their employees, however it has only become worse. On the surface it appears like a decent place to work, but if you’re looking for a stable, caring employer look elsewhere. This company cut hours with no notice leaving store associates financially burdened. Many quit due to this. You may be hired on full time only to randomly be told that you will now become part time and lose all of your benefits for no reason other than the company is hurting for money. It does not matter how hard you worked or how much you care - their concern is always their bottom line and that’s it. During the pandemic we reopened immediately but with nothing in place for employee safety. No plexiglass partitions, no masks, not even hand sanitizer. It took this company months to supply us with proper PPE. Until then we had to supply our own, even store cleaner like Lysol. They play commercials over the store radio saying how much we clean the store, that they care about safety and the employees, which is ironic, and a lie. Raises are yearly but anywhere from .05cents to .50c if you’re lucky. Many times however we are told that the .50c is not allowed due to company hardships and will be given .25c wage increases even if we met the requirements for the .50c. This year however, they’ve frozen giving us raises all together. The company has serious financial issues. Often we do not even have proper product inventory to stock the shelves and we run out of product which makes our customers fairly upset. Many are starting to shop at competitors because they can’t get what they need. Stores are operated on a paper thin staff or even a single associate coverage making it difficult to properly service all of your customers properly. Not to mention working alone doesn’t feel very safe, and if you’re busy customers get angry if you can’t immediately help them. Overall, this company was initially a decent place to work but they’ve chosen to abuse and ignore the brick and mortar of their business - the store associates. Look elsewhere if you’re looking for an employer that will respect your contribution.
